Lower the UK voting age for all elections to 16 years old
The Government should pass a parliamentary statute to allow all over 16s to register for the Electoral Role AND vote in all elections in the UK
This should be done because 16+ people are effected by the government just like over 18s; the current government is passing laws that will affect young people’s lives in the future. Therefore they should be able to participate in voting to have their say on how the country is run. Already in Scotland, 16 and 17 year olds can vote in devolution votes so if they can be entrusted in Scotland why not in the rest of the UK?
