Petition Action

Do not consider making eid and Diwali public holidays

Additional Information

I have seen some petitions getting lots of signatures trying to make eid and Diwali public holidays

I believe this country is Christian and although I and many others respect faiths of all types of people that we need to keep tradition and our roots of history prominent in this modern day, and although people have the right to their own religion or faith and celebrate these traditions that they should not be made public holidays due to the fact that according to the 2011 census 60% of the nation is Christian and therefore does not celebrate them and only 4.8% were Muslim and 1.5% Hindu
