Cyclists of all ages should be required by law to wear helmets.
We have no laws enforcing the use of cycle helmets, teenagers refuse to wear them/hide them or cycle with them on their handlebars because they are mocked by peers.
Because there is no law, there are no standards. People who do chose to wear a helmet can still be at risk because of poor design and quality.
Please sign and keep our cyclists, of all ages safe. There have been previous petitions about this, the government use the same reason against every time. "there is already a petition on this subject". None have amounted to anything.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
