Scrap the minimum wage system and instead pay accordingly to skills, not age.
I think regardless of your age you should be paid fairly, this would mean that if you are, for example 18 starting the exact same job at the same time as a 30 year old you should both be paid the same minimum wage, this would then increase every year for a number of years due to experience gained.
Young people are finding it increasingly hard to live and survive during the cost of living crisis due to being underpaid, why should an 18yr old be paid less for doing the same job as a 30yr old for the same amount of time in a job? In my opinion they shouldn’t. Young people need to be paid fairly and with the current minimum wage age system we have in place they aren’t being and being young has a lot of challenges don’t let one of them be money, help our young people make a decent, fair wage.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you're concerned about people of different ages being paid different amounts, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
There are currently different minimum wages for different age groups, and we could accept a petition calling for the Government to make the minimum wage equal for people of all ages, if that's what you want to happen.
The Government isn't responsible for what employers pay people above the minimum wage, although the Equality Act 2010 makes it illegal for employers to discriminate against employees because of their age, unless this can be objectively justified.
