Maintain A Supply Of Analogue Utility Meters, as an alternative to Smart Meters
Some people don't wish to have smart meters installed for several reasons including privacy and health concerns.
We ask the government ensure that a level of analogue utility meters remains in production, to meet the ongoing demand of those wishing to not have smart meters installed.
In light of the recent backlash against the Energy Bill, due to a perception that it would mandate smart meters, and the governments subsequent reassurance that it won't:

A level of production of analogue utility meters needs to be maintained so as to avoid an eventual 'mandation' of smart meters through obsolescence of alternatives.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the supply of utility meters are a matter for manufacturers and utility providers, not the UK Government or Parliament.
