Remove VAT for listed building repair materials and work

Petition Details

We want the Government to remove the cost of VAT for building repairs on listed buildings. This should cover materials and labour.

Additional Information

Owning a listed building can be costly due to the specialised materials, skilled labour, and regulatory requirements involved in their maintenance. Removing the VAT element of these costs would not only alleviate a significant financial burden for property owners, but would also help ensure that these architectural treasures continue to stand the test of time, benefiting communities, culture, tourism, and the environment.
