Include details of significant case law on legislation.gov.uk
We want the Government to include significant case law relating to legislation on legislation.gov.uk.
So, for instance, if I wanted to find relevant case law to s14(2) of the Sale of Goods Act 1979, it would be easily accessible from the legislation.gov.uk page for this legislation.
The law of England and Wales is created in case law as well as in statutory legislation. An understanding of legislation can be of limited help if one doesn't have access to precedent through which to interpret it. Therefore, keeping a record of this nation's legislation without also keeping a similar archive of important cases that have shaped said legislation, means that those with less legal experience may only be looking at half of the law. A corresponding case archive would help those without legal knowledge.
