Introducing dredging of rivers.
The excess water off the land can't get move into the rivers due to the amount of silt on the river beds.
Dredging cleans out the rivers and eases water flooding.
To stop people's homes being destroyed and ease pain and suffering and financial cost to those effected.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Dredging and the removal of silt and sand from main rivers is regulated under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010, but decisions about dredging of individual rivers is a matter for individual local authorities and the Environment Agency, not the Government or House of Commons.
If you are concerned about management of the River Severn you could contact the Environmen Agency directly about this: www.gov.uk/government/organisations/environment-agency
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
