Scrap the Economic Activity of Public Bodies (Overseas Matters) Bill 2022-23

Petition Details

I would like the Government to scrap the stated Bill. We believe it is imposing on the rights to protest of public bodies. This bill essentially forces public bodies to consider taking out contracts with companies who operate in territories that they believe may be acting immorally.

Additional Information

Although rightfully exempting Russia (so public bodies can 'publicly' divest from and boycott Russian related commerce) for breaking international law and crimes against humanity, they have not exempted other governments who many consider to be committing immoral acts - such as Israel and China.
