Do not restrict the use of tents by homeless people

Petition Details

The usage of tents is not a lifestyle choice. It is an alternative for safety, including for when people are refused statutory care.

Additional Information

When someone is forced to sleep rough they should be allowed to do it with privacy and dignity.

We are seeing a large rise in rough sleepers as a result of the cost of living crisis.

By restricting the use of tents the Government would be forcing people to sleep in worse conditions, potentially damaging their physical and mental health.

We believe that if it restricts the use of tents the Government will not see a resolution but higher exposure of rough sleepers on the streets.
