Only allow fireworks on the dates of traditional celebratory events

Petition Details

For the Government to only allow fireworks to be used on the date of traditional celebratory events such as November 5th, New Years, Diwali and Chinese New Year. Fireworks should not be allowed to be used in the days and weeks running up to the events or thereafter.

Additional Information

As the Government has no plans to ban the sale of fireworks to the general public, we want them to make it illegal to use them unless on the aforementioned celebratory events. As outlined in previous petitions, we believe the negatives of fireworks outweigh the positives. Every year fireworks cause serious stress to animals, harm those with sensory issues, PTSD and other traumas. If fireworks were only used on the above dates and not before or after people could better prepare for said events.
