Success in School is based on Selection

Additional Information

The top 200 secondary schools in England are Grammar schools or Independent schools.
A Grammar school provides free education provided by the state.
Only 21 out of 150 Local Education Authorities provide Grammar schools, there are only 164 Grammar schools in England; this creates an inequality in the Education system.
The problem: in non-Grammar LEAs, bright children are discriminated against because they are placed in the inferior Comprehensive system, the LEA does not provide an education based on the needs of the child.
The government has a commitment to improve all welfare state services and this includes Education, however successive governments have refused to accept that Grammar schools and the selective process leads to the best possible outcome for the child and society.
Society is losing too many bright, talented individuals to the Comprehensive system, that has endemic institutionalised failure as its core theme.
