Implement mandatory foot checks for diabetic patients before discharge.
In the UK alone, there are over 4 million people diagnosed with diabetes (source: Diabetes UK). That's over 4 million people potentially at risk of unnoticed complications
Diabetes is known to cause nerve damage and poor blood circulation that can lead to serious foot problems including gangrene (source: NHS).
Yet there are no mandatory checks for such conditions before discharging diabetic patients. We demand that all hospitals across the United Kingdom implement mandatory foot checks for all diabetic patients before discharge. This simple step could prevent unnecessary suffering and potential loss of life due to complications like gangrene.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about patient care are a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament.
