Cease plans to make changes to the Work Capability Assessment (WCA)

Petition Details

I believe plans to remove or change some descriptors used to assess whether certain disabilities reduce people’s ability to work, and to amend the “substantial risk” regulations, are profoundly unethical and unjustifiable.

Additional Information

I believe that the changes would lead to more disabled people being incorrectly found fit for work, more at risk of having their benefits sanctioned, and fewer classed as having limited capability for work / work related activity. The proposals have already provoked strong opposition from Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) and the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych).
