Do not privatise child protection services
No company should be able to profit from any form of child protection services.
The department for education is discussing the possibility of privatising child protection services in May 2014.
I'm all for changing any helpful services, especially child protection, where it is for the benefit if both the public purse and the services offered. But most of all to help the people who need it the most.
Allowing a tender process for this service to private companies means that profit will be allowed, meaning any money spent in the services will be given to shareholders, and not reinvested into service.
I propose that these services should remain under the umbrella of the local government (council) and spending is decided by such.
Child protection services should be not-for-profit!
