Amend the Human Rights Acts
This Act provides important and essential protection for the citizen against potential abuse of power by the state, but does not protect citizen’s rights against other persons. It should be amended, not abolished.
I therefore propose the following:
• The title of the Act be amended to The Human Rights and Responsibility Act
• Extra clause 1 : “It is the responsibility of each UK citizen and each visitor to the UK to afford the above rights to each UK citizen and each visitor to the UK”
• Extra clause 2: “If any person fails to comply with ‘extra clause 1’ than that person loses the protection of this Act to an appropriate and proportionate extent”, and
• Extra clause 3: “If any non-UK citizen breaches extra clause 1 grievously or persistently, nothing in this Act supports that person’s right to stay in the UK”
