On 12th May 2014 - East Kilbride's own indoor skatepark 'Ekpark' was shut down and put into liquidation.
Many users of the park felt let down that it had come to this especially as the nearest indoor park is over 40 miles away - and other mainstream sports such as football and golf - already have indoor and outdoor facilities to cope with the every changing weather in Scotland- We have started this petition to gather as many signatures as possible - to hopefully show to the Government and local Council that we do use this park and it will be missed.
Ekpark was a great indoor facility where kids could meet to train at their own extreme sport - whether that be BMX, Skateboarding, Inline rollerblading or scootering - as well as socialising with friends in a safe environment.
