Rule out cancer first. Don't waste time. Save lives.
Make it mandatory that if someone goes to a Dr with any symptoms that could be cancer related or something potentially life threatening.
RULE OUT THE WORST CASE FIRST.
If its something sinister it's caught early
There are too many lost lives because Dr's start with a 'mild' diagnosis then scale up until cancer is diagnosed wasting precious time and ultimately not catching a serious diagnosis early.
Lives are lost because a cough could be a chest infection, it could be bronchitis or pneumonia. Weeks or months could pass the cough continues the medication changes and gets stronger if it's cancer it makes no difference antibiotics won't cure it. It gets worse in time there's a diagnosis it's too late.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Diagnosis of patients is a matter for individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament. The Government has taken action to speed up cancer diagnoses: www.gov.uk/government/news/from-2020-people-with-suspected-cancer-will-be-diagnosed-faster
Alternatively, you may wish to submit a petition about reviewing diagnostic pathways for people with symptoms of cancer, or increasing funding to improve cancer diagnosis.
