Increase sentences for dangerous dog offences that lead to injury or death

Petition Details

Dog attacks will not stop, and we do not believe banning breeds is the answer. We want increased sentences for owners responsible for dog attacks that result in injury or death, equal to those for knife or gun crimes.

Additional Information

We believe the dog breed is NOT the problem, bad ownership is, and that only when owners are held adequately accountable will bad ownership be reduced.

If your dog attacks through boredom, neglect, mistreatment, lack of training, exercise or care, inappropriate environment, cruelty, pain through untreated illness, or status symbolism, we believe this amounts to weaponising your dog, and sentences should be the same as if you have taken a knife or gun and attacked someone.
