Income Tax relief on Private Health Insurance premiums

Additional Information

For those of us that have an option to purchase private healthcare through or our employers or direct, taxpayers should receive tax relief on the premiums.

The argument is that people who buy private healthcare will no doubt pay NI, however when medical needs arise they will most probably use private healthcare instead of the NHS resources. To encourage more uptake of private health policies and leaving the NHS for people who can't afford private care, the government should make an incentive for people to make it more cost effective for people to go private.
