Replace the Service Complaints process with a Military Employment Tribunal

Petition Details

I want Parliament to legislate to abolish the current Service Complaints system for British Service personnel and replace it with a dedicated Military Employment Tribunal, presided over by the independent judiciary, in much the same way as the judiciary presides over courts martial.

Additional Information

I believe the Service Complaints process is not fit for purpose. I am a retired RAF legal officer and I now practise military law full time on behalf of British Service personnel. From my experience, lack of trust in the current system is widespread. It uses non legally qualified retired senior officers to decide cases. All too often they find in favour of their own MOD employer. I believe the system lacks independence and impartiality, is fraught with delay, lack of transparency and a lack of consistency.
