Better rehablilitation programmes for offenders
To reduce recidivism, better rehabilitation programmes need to be put in place to reduce crime rates throughout England. Although costly in the short run the long term benifits, such as reduction in police due to reduced crime, more capacity in prison with more offenders not re-offending and the general rehabliltation of offenders so they can rebuild their lives and eventaully contribute to reducing the budget deficit with reduced benefits, and saving the cost of £24,000 per person for holding an offender in prison.
