Stop pharmacies asking for name/address in public before releasing prescription
Stop chemist and pharmacy staff asking you to reveal your name address in public areas before handing over your prescription. Surely this is a privacy issue.
In some cases, asking people to reveal their personal details in a public area could be considered a breach of privacy. We are advised to shred our personal correspondence before disposing of them to reduce the risk of identity theft, but yet we are told to give out our details in public before we receive our much needed medication.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about how to check a person's identity before providing a prescription are a matter for individual pharmacies and the relevant regulator, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you are concerned about the practice of a pharmacy, you should raise your concerns with them directly.
