Introduce 30hours free childcare to all of the UK including Northern Ireland
Benefit working families across all of the UK including Northern Ireland to be entitled to 30 hours free childcare across 38 weeks as per already in England. Many families are unable to work due to childcare cost and are often in poverty due to this.
Other parts of the UK are not benefiting from these opportunities. Only parliament or government can introduce this, a local MLA can't. Families being able to work keeps employment up, allows families to remain out of poverty and reduce benefit claims. It benefits not just the public but also the government.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about free childcare in Northern Ireland are a matter for Northern Ireland Assembly and Northern Ireland Executive, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you want to raise this issue you could contact your MLA, or raise it with the relevant Northern Ireland department.
