Widen the catchment area for free/small fee veterinary services
Widen the catchment areas for free/no fee veterinary services for families on low income
I recently lost my beloved French Mastiff “Capone” to T-Cell Lymphoma. After going way past my insurance limit and spending almost £17,000 I started to think of the families who would have been unable to pay that amount. I looked in to it and saw all the top known free/low fee veterinary services only help those in certain postcodes. This needs to be changed so all families on a low income are able to afford to take care of their beloved pets without fear of being in the wrong postcode

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about the catchment area for subsidised veterinary services
are a matter for individual vets, rather than a decision about policy or legislation that is made by the Government or Parliament.
You could suggest a petition about the Government providing funding to increase the catchment areas of subsidised vets.
