Allow people to retain and make new claims for Child Tax Credits

Petition Details

We want the Government to allow people to retain existing entitlements to Child Tax Credits, and make new claims for Child Tax Credits, rather than having to claim Universal Credit.

Additional Information

Some people on Universal Credit will receive less support than they would be entitled to through Child Tax Credits.

With the cost of living and inflation, any reduction in income could push people into debt, and unable to afford basic essentials. This could even lead to homelessness.
