Don't increase financial thresholds for exemption from financial promotion rules

Petition Details

Under new regulations angel investors need to earn at least £170k or have at least £430k in assets in the last financial year. I believe this will disproportionately affect female investors due to existing gender inequalities in wages.

Additional Information

Female-run businesses may rely more on female investors. There is a disproportionate amount of men earning over £170k in the UK which may bias angel investment towards men.

Therefore, we believe the limits should not be changed until this has been a further reviewed and steps taken to make sure we level up investment in female led businesses.
