Don’t shorten the summer holidays and keep school weekends Saturday and Sunday
We want the government to keep summer holidays 6 weeks which is already short enough compared to many other countries, keep school weekends Saturday and Sunday.
We want the government to do this as children from 4-18 spend a huge chunk of their lives in school. Introducing school on Saturdays means children have less time for sporting and social activities on weekends and even less breaks for our mental health. This also means children get to spend less bonding time with their family meaning their relationship will be less strong which could be really damaging for both parents and children. If you really cared about the children of the uk summer holidays would be extended.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The Government has not announced any plans to reduce the length of school summer holidays in England, so we're not sure what you want the Government or Parliament to do.
