Require Public Access Defibrillators in newly built housing projects

Petition Details

I want the Government to introduce legislation that ensures the compulsory placement of a Public Access Defibrillator [PAD] by developers in newly built housing projects. Newly built housing projects would be any developments >six houses of any style from 2024 onwards.

Additional Information

Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Outcomes Registry's recent findings indicate healthcare inequalities in outcomes of Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrests outcomes, with only 7.8% of patients surviving 30 days after the event. Research shows, early use of an Automated External Defibrillator [AED] can improve this proportion. I propose compulsory PADs to be fitted in newly built housing projects by the developers to improve access to AEDs.
