Petition Action

To Kill a Mockingbird

Additional Information

We petition the government to actively encourage the reading in schools of great twentieth century literature from a range of countries. Such books, written in English, have immense value to British children, in developing their understanding of issues which face and shape all humanity.

Please ensure that such books from non British authors e.g. Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird, are explicitly on the KS4 English syllabi.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
