General, European and Local Elections should be Public Holidays
In the recent elections only around 33% of people voted. Political Apathy is a dangerous issue that threatens to undermine the democracy that so many have fought for and which we all hold so dear. Politicians should take this issue more seriously instead of just listening to those who shout the loudest. Giving people a public holiday to vote would at the least ensure that everyone gets the chance to do vote and help get voting gets the appropriate amount of attention and respect it deserves.
