Petition Action

nhs whistleblowersTo take immediate action to protect 'whistleblowers' within the NHS from losing their jobs and careers who report 'bad practice' wit

Additional Information

Even though the people have been assured by Government that ‘whistleblowers’ will be allowed to voice concerns over ill treatment or abuse of patients, we have yet another report of an employee losing his employment with a Foundation Trust because of his concerns over the treatment of children and elderly patients.

Every person has the right to be treated with respect when in the care of the NHS and not be subject to any kind of neglect or abuse. Likewise any employee who witnesses such incidents should have the protection of the Government against repercussion when reporting any findings to Trust management. Too often we see that pressures are put upon such people to discourage others from such actions, often to the detriment of that persons career/reputation.

I petition the Prime Minister to urgently take more urgent action to protect such employees during investigations of their concerns.
