Urge Israel to let Gaza children/women go to safe havens in Israel or West Bank
Urge Israel to allow temp safe havens in Israel (outside Gaza) for children/women. Israeli academics proposed safe havens in Israel for children/women/elderly/hosp. evac (The Guardian 1/11/23) run by UN/Red Cross; financed internationally; protected by IDF. Or escort children/women to the West Bank.
Israel wants to eliminate Hamas after 7 Oct and the taking of hostages, however many of the 28000+ deaths in Gaza are children/women. Children should be given special protection under International Humanitarian Law. Temporary safe havens in Israel (outside Gaza) or in the West Bank for children/women will prevent suffering and is within IHL. Safe havens in Israel would not be a permanent displacement. The UK (USA, EU, etc.) could persuade Israel to allow safe havens as they are supplying arms.
