Introduce an independent body to consider all complaints against the police

Petition Details

Set up an independent body to investigate all complaints against the police ,made up of members of the general public with no affiliation to police organisations and who have never worked for the police in any capacity.

Additional Information

This body should have the power to impose disciplinary sanctions, or refer cases for prosecution.

We are concerned about cases of miscarriages of justice, policing standards and criminality in the police. We believe a totally independent police complaints authority made up of members of the public, that considers all complaints against the police, could help remedy current issues.
