Introduce offences of Death by Careless/Dangerous Cycling

Petition Details

We want the Government to introduce offences of Death by Careless/Dangerous Cycling, with penalties equivalent to those for Death by Careless/Dangerous Driving. Currently only offences with lower maximum penalties apply to cases where a cyclists causes the death of a pedestrian or other road user.

Additional Information

I have lost my son in a fatal accident due to a cyclist cutting in front of him at a filter light. The cyclist was found guilty of careless and inconsiderate cycling and received a fine. There is NO law for cyclists to be charged with Death by Careless/Dangerous Cycling, and we want this to change.
