A Call for A Childhood free of Smartphones and all other such Smart Device

Petition Details

A total ban on the sale of all smartphones and other such devices for the under 16’s. A total ban in Schools and all public settings of the use by under 16’s of all smart devices and phones.

Additional Information

Smartphones expose children to a “world that they are not ready for” because they can access pornography and content on self-harm and suicide, which can have a detrimental impact on their mental health, They just don’t need one. They don’t need a smartphone at that age. A brick phone can do everything that they need.”
Ofcom research has found that 91% of children in the UK own a smartphone by the time they are 11 and 44% by the time they are nine, this unnecessary corruption of a child’s mind and the unnecessary damage to a child’s mental health has to stop.
