Introduce a national minimum wage for jobs existing within anti-social hours

Petition Details

Working anti-social hours on minimum wage is not sufficient. Safe travels home at 4am means getting a taxi as there is no public transport available at these hours, causing us to pay much higher costs for transport home meaning almost an hours wage if not more has to be spent on getting home safely.

Additional Information

The government needs to consider that jobs existing within anti-social hours come with more expensive costs than those working social hours. This includes transport home such as taxi’s when public transport is not running, having to use corner shops for food after work when affordable shops like supermarkets are closed. These two examples explore how those working anti-social hours are bound to more expensive travel and food costs, therefore a NMW should be introduced to help subsidise the costs
