Restrict HGVs and agricultural vehicles on single carriageways to certain times

Petition Details

To improve the congestion on single carriageways in England, we think HGVs should be prohibited during the following hours:

between 06:00 - 09:00hrs Mon - Sat
between 18:00 - 21:00hrs Mon - Sat
All day Sunday - the only exception being if the cargo is perishable

Additional Information

This could:

1) reduce the traffic congestion at key times during the day for other users of the roads (workers that have to commute by car/bus/van)
2) reduce noise and tailpipe pollution
3) increase the speed of traffic on these roads and improve people's time spent commuting to work
