Lower the fine on ULEZ and LEZ to £12.50 - £15
I want the fine for vehicles that do not meet ULEZ and LEZ standards to be lowered. The scheme should not be a shake down on people who cannot afford new cars or vans.
The current fine of £60 is a "bank breaker" to people who are struggling to make ends meet and need their cars for work. The LEZ and ULEZ schemes were not intended for this purpose. £12.50-£15.00 is a cost that will push people to look for an alternative without putting them in financial burden. Especially when it racks up as simple as entering at 2200 and leaving at 0100 you are charged £120 for passing through a city.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about fines for non-payment of local low emission zone charges are a matter for the relevant local authority, not the UK Government or Parliament.
The London Assembly has its own petitions process. You can find out more about how to petition the London Assembly here: www.london.gov.uk/about-us/london-assembly/petitions
