Advocate for a Savings-Based Auto Insurance Model for Fairer Premiums
Urge the government to mandate insurance companies to adopt a savings-based system, where premiums fund personal claims accounts, ensuring fairness and responsibility
Current UK car insurance doesn’t reflect drivers’ real risk, leading to unfairly high premiums, especially for safe, experienced drivers. A savings-based model would mean premiums create a personal fund for each driver’s claims, making insurance costs fairer and directly linked to individual driving records, encouraging safer driving and giving drivers more control over their insurance expenses.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see changes to the way car insurance operates, but we're not sure exactly what system you want the Government to require insurers to introduce. Your petition refers to a "savings-based model", but it's not clear what you mean by this, or how this would lead to fairer premiums.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
