Stop Unfair Bank Charges
Banks are unfairly charging people for going over agreed limits when they should be declining any transactions that would put the customer’s account over this limit.
The banks do this knowing that they can then charge unarranged overdraft fees thus netting them millions each year. In turn this is causing unnecessary hardship for people.
The banks should be prevented from doing this and should decline a transaction on the account if the funds are not available.
We request the chancellor to bring in regulations to prevent banks from allowing customers’ accounts to over the agreed limit only to charge a fee.
