Require businesses who sell soft drinks to sell sugar-free equivalents

Petition Details

We want the Government to require businesses that sell soft drinks to also sell zero sugar or sugar-free equivalents. This could help tackle high levels of obesity and diabetes and help people to manage their weight and blood sugar levels.

Additional Information

The Government introduced the sugar tax to help tackle the consumption of sugar but we believe that more can be done. Currently, businesses that sell soft drink are not required to offer low sugar or zero alternatives, and so the choice for an individual can be poor. As many drink brands have zero or sugar free versions of their brands, therefore retailers should be made to offer healthier alternatives.
