Petition Action

Stop unfair school fines

Petition Details

England should stop unfair school fines and allow a 5 day grace period.
Parents should be allowed to choose when to take a holiday with their child rather than being penalised. Family time and mental health is just as important as school attendance.

Additional Information

Stop school fines and allow at least 5 days a year to allow lower income families the chance to spend quality time together too, allow lower income children to experience and learn from different cultures and experiences.

As a parent we should be able to chose what is best for our children not the government. Low income families are at a disadvantage as the price of holidays in peak times makes these experiences unavailable to them. (Uk or abroad holidays are affected by price rises)
