Require train operators to refund tickets if no seats available

Petition Details

The Government should require train operators to refund tickets if no seats are available on trains, for at least 75% of their journey. I believe it is not acceptable for passengers to go without seating.

Additional Information

Despite electronic ticket barriers gathering data on train usage, I believe there is insufficient seating on the majority of train journeys.

Rail fares increase steadily, and I think this is not a question of insufficient data but more related to rail operator profits.
