1. How can it be we are funding people on sickness benefits and they are going out and drinking!!.. besides the HUGE costs of the benefits we have the costs of nhs treatment ambulances being called out and police attending also.

2.There are government run schemes like work choice program that specialise in dealing with long term unemployed and with people with issues like a disability or mental health issues. get back into work.A small unknown or publicised program that works better than the government back to work program.

3. If we are going to sanction unemployed people then we should do the same with those who claim long term sickness benefits. all well and good getting help and support but their should be conditions to claiming them and it should be monitored or lose them..
