Sheppey Crossing A249 Safety review
After what was considered to be the largest UK road traffic crash and a recent double fatality we wish for a full safety review of the A249 Sheppey Crossing consideration to be made for the following. Speed restriction with enforcement from Kent and Medway partnership, Highway Agency camera monitoring. Emergency phones. Emergency refuges. Gantry warnings of lane blockages. Full lighting.
This is currently a duel carriageway with a national speed limit of 70 Mph. The is no facility for refuge at present.
