Petition Action

*REFORM* Reduce costs for government while streamlining the process for those in need

Additional Information

At present, many offices with many employees assess identical evidence for claims to social funds that have been assessed previously for other claims resulting in wasted staff hours repeating the same tasks

SUGGESTION:
Requests for benefits be assessed by one central contact point that can assess all information required about a claimant for all benefits by going down a list of benefits the claimant may be entitled to:
E.G:
JSA = no
ESA = yes
DLA = no
child benefit = yes
income support = no
etc.
This way all necessary evidence can be assessed together instead of the same documents keep being sent out for various benefits.

RESULT:
* reduced number of offices/ staff needed to asses cases
* a claimants details need only be assessed once instead of wasting time assessing repeatedly
* staff no longer required to assess can now help investigating fraud
* make claims easier for those who genuinely in need
* claimants may receive other financial help they weren't aware of
