cabinet ministers to work for charities
Following on from the PM's big society initiative, cabinet ministers should give some of their time to charities.
The charity should be relevant to the department the minister is in charge of.
This would allow them to connect with the people, and gain valuable experience for their role.
It would also allow them to lead by example.
The number of days would be a minimum of 5, but should be at least to the number of days in any outside consultancy work they do.
The work would of course be unpaid.
