Make Wigan Infirmary a specialist hospital
Under the Healthier Together programme a consultation is underway across Greater Manchester to improve healthcare services.
As part of this there are proposals to designate certain hospitals as specialist sites where emergency care is provided.
If not selected Wigan Infirmary would be classed as a general hospital and residents will have to travel to Salford or possibly Bolton to obtain emergency surgery or serious medical treatment.
We want everyone’s support to keep local access to all these services within Wigan borough.
