Historic sex abuse cases should receive tougher sentencing

Victims of sex abuse in historic cases are not receiving sufficient justice, paedophiles are serving less time by evading justice for so long whilst the victim suffers for most of their life. for every year that the crime has remained undetected the abuser should receive an additional six months. Many victims block the abuse and it can take years to resurface. The longer the abuse remains undetected the greater the sentence should be. This should be in addition to the current sentence applicable and that the sentences run consecutively.
